Vision for Healing, Growth and Mental Health Accessibility in Birmingham
In a city as vibrant and complex as Birmingham, the need for accessible mental health care, holistic wellness, and meaningful community connection has never been more urgent. The Greenhouse Collective was born from that need — a vision rooted in care, equity, and possibility.
I’m thrilled to share that we’ve officially filed for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. This is a huge step forward in creating a space where healing, growth, and leadership development can flourish — especially for those who have historically been left out of traditional models of care.
What Is the Greenhouse Collective?
The Greenhouse Collective is an emerging nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable mental health services, holistic wellness practices, and creative spaces for community building and soul care. We’re building a community in Birmingham where therapists, social workers, spiritual directors, artists, writers and wellness professionals collaborate to nurture individual and communal well-being.
Our mission is simple yet bold: to lower barriers to healing and leadership development by offering integrated care for the mind, body, and spirit — all under one roof.
Why Now?
In the wake of a global pandemic, political and economic uncertainty, rising mental health challenges, and deepening social isolation, we need community spaces that invite us to grow and thrive together. Many in Birmingham are searching for connection and care that honors the whole person — mental, emotional, and spiritual.
We see the Greenhouse Collective as just that: a protective, nurturing environment where people are invited to flourish. Like a real greenhouse, with our workshops, counseling, wellness practices and support communities we aim to provide warmth, nourishment, and light — especially for those navigating life’s harder seasons. We promote Mental Health Accessibility in Birmingham through our practitioner supports.

What We’re Building
We’re in our foundational phase, but here’s what we’ve already begun:
Forming a powerful practitioner network of therapists, spiritual directors, and wellness professionals
Creating a rotating calendar of free workshops on mental health, creative expression, and soul care. (Support circles starting at the end of the month and writing workshops, book clubs and dream work groups starting up soon!)
Developing curricula for youth, students, and underserved communities
Offering sliding-scale individual and group support sessions and free monthly workshops!
Designing a future space with therapy rooms, community gathering spaces, a retail area with books and wellness items, and even a cozy coffee bar
And this is just the beginning. Our dream is to expand into mobile wellness services, youth programs, retreats, scholorships for therapists and counselors to learn new techniques for continuing education, and certification tracks for holistic care providers.

A Final Word
This is more than a nonprofit. It’s a movement. A response to the pain, beauty, and longing that lives in our city and in our bodies. I hope you’ll join us as we co-create a new story of healing and leadership — one rooted in community, care, and growth.
In tenderness and hope,
